By Naïla Bedrani, agricultural engineer, PhD in rural sociology, and manager of RAIA (Agricultural Network of the Atlantic Islands). This conference is the fourth in the water series, initiated by the University of the Third Age (UTL) with the Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives (CPIE) of Belle-Île-en-Mer, represented by Céline Marie. Through an action-research project, the RAIA association and its partners are studying the effects of climate change on island agricultural activities, paying particular attention to water resources and their impact on the lived experience of farming and the management of farming systems. Climatology, hydrology, agronomy, and sociology intersect with the knowledge of professionals to understand vulnerabilities, identify levers for adaptation, and envision possible futures.
