Conférence : La poésie de l'exil d'Ovide à Saint John Perse

By Michèle Bardoux, a retired professor of grammar, who leads the Greek/Latin workshop at the University of the Third Age (UTL) on Belle-Île-en-Mer. Whether voluntary or forced, exile is a painful wrenching experience, but also a time of creation. Ovid, exiled to Tomis on the orders of Emperor Augustus, Victor Hugo, settled in Guernsey, and Saint-John Perse, exiled to the United States: we will (re)discover the journeys of these three poets and the works that exile inspired in them.
