I use stoneware to create functional and decorative objects, which I glaze in my own style, allowing the mineral aspect of my pottery to show through. I am inspired by my travels to Japan, China, and other countries to create original forms. I love it when people touch my pottery, pick it up, and caress it before choosing it. I often work in my garden during the summer, and that's where my workshops and courses take place: Year-round classes open to everyone, beginners or experienced potters, come and try it out! You will progress quickly and gain independence after just a few sessions. Price: €38 for 2 hours (clay, earthenware, colored slips and glazing, and 2 firings in an electric kiln). Wednesdays from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm and Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm – see the calendar for dates. "Family Clay" ceramic workshops are held during school holidays, and sometimes even outside of school holidays (see the Tourist Office calendar). Price: €50 for 2.5 hours (clay, earthenware, colored slips and glazing, and 2 firings in an electric kiln). "Parent-Child" Modeling Workshops: Come create a ceramic piece together and share a special moment with your child in Sarah's studio. For 2 hours, discover modeling and decorate your creation together. Price for the duo: €80, which includes tools, clay, slips, and both firings. Participants: one parent and one child aged 4 to 6. Please arrange to collect your artwork at the end of your stay. Shipping is possible (€20 fee). Registration is required at 06 83 80 93 57 (€25 deposit required). 4-hour Raku Workshop: Discover the magic of raku firing in a friendly and engaging workshop. After an introduction to the technique and safety instructions, you will choose a piece (cup, bowl, or saucer) and apply your glaze. Then comes the spectacular firing at 900-1000°C, followed by hot removal from the kiln and smoking, which reveals the famous raku crackle effect. Cleaning, care tips, and a discussion conclude the workshop. You will leave with your unique piece and a valuable understanding of this fascinating technique. (No refund for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance.) Japanese Kuri Nuki Pottery: The Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfect ceramics. Kuri Nuki is a traditional Japanese form of hand-building pottery. The word means "to carve, to hollow out," and it involves shaping the exterior of a solid block of clay, then hollowing it out into a vessel to create "an inner space." Wabi-sabi evokes rustic simplicity, natural elegance, the calm of nature, the unfolding of time, and the beauty and serenity that come with the age of the object, its wear, and its patina. It also represents rust, authenticity, the proof that nothing lasts, and impermanence. The bowls will dry in the workshop. They will be fired in an electric kiln for the first firing, then glazed and fired again, also in an electric kiln, so they can be used as food containers. Price: €65.
