Octobre Rose - Le Palais Rose

Registration at the tourist office Pink October is a breast cancer awareness and prevention campaign that takes place every year for a month on a national scale. It is the most common cancer in France, representing the leading cause of cancer death in women. The campaign consists of organizing any event that raises donations for research against this scourge. The Municipality of Le Palais in Belle-Ile-en-Mer has commissioned the Grand Raid Insulaire Association to organize the first edition of Le Palais Rose, scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2025. For a donation of 12 to 20 euros for adults and 6 euros for children (from 12 years old), each participant will be able to run or symbolically walk a distance of 6 km in the town of Palais through health sports. WITHOUT TIME, WITHOUT RANKING, the events are open to all, men, women, and children aged 12 and over. The route common to both events takes in the roads and streets of the town of Le Palais, as well as a short section of coastal paths, thus providing an opportunity to walk through its heritage. Registration is now open until October 11, 2025 at the tourist office. Rules and conditions of participation are attached. All profits will be donated to the regional cancer screening coordination center to support the "Mammobile" project to facilitate access to screening for island women. BIBS COLLECTION: At the Belle-Ile Tourist Office (Place de l'Hôtel de Ville in Palais) during opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., closed on Thursday afternoons. For tickets purchased online, bibs will be issued upon presentation of proof of purchase (confirmation email). 9:30 AM: MEET AT TOWN HALL PLACE. 9:40 AM: WARM-UP 10:00 AM: RACE START 10:15 AM: WALKING START GOOD TO KNOW: Wearing a pink accessory is strongly recommended: T-shirt, cap, wig, ribbon, ball... Everyone registered will be given a bib to pin on the front of the T-shirt. Each competitor is invited to create their own bib with a personalized message, to pin on the back of the T-shirt. A "Le Palais Rose" T-shirt will be offered to the first 250 women to register. Le Palais Rose and Mammobile: The Mammobile is a mobile radiology office set up in a truck which organizes its regional tour, thus allowing mammograms to be carried out as part of the Organized Screening for 3 cancers, including breast cancer. The Brittany Regional Cancer Screening Coordination Center is coordinating the project to create the "Mammobile Bretagne." Its goal is to provide better access to cancer screening by offering "screening close to home." For various technical reasons (bulk and sensitive equipment), it will not be available to Belle Ile en Mer but will be available in Quiberon. It should thus allow a greater number of island women to participate in organized screening!
