My name is Tania, and I've lived on Belle-Île for over 10 years now. A recent graduate of the French state-certified Tourist Guide program, I offer individual or group guided tours on Belle-Île and in the Auray region, exploring the incredibly rich historical and architectural heritage of these areas. Are you curious? Me too! There are so many places, people, and stories for you to discover...along the way. One-off guided tours include "Behind the Scenes at the Palace": a 2-hour tour...
One-off guided tours include "Behind the Scenes at the Palace": a 2-hour tour exploring the island's small capital. We'll see the city walls, the "La Montagne" district, the evolution of the port over the centuries, the Citadel, and, as a highlight, the Church of Christ the King, a veritable picture book, listed as a Historical Monument. Price: €10 per adult and €5 per child aged 7 to 15, as well as island residents. Find all the dates in the Tourist Office's events calendar. Customized private tours for individuals or groups are available, with the option of private shuttle transport with a driver. Duration and themes will be determined together for tours ranging from 1 hour to a full day. Here are a few ideas for half-day or full-day tours: - The island's lighthouses: Grand Phare, Poulains Lighthouse, Kerdonis Lighthouse – what they tell us about Belle-Île-en-Mer. - Vauban, "the fortress man": Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban profoundly marked France. The Vauban Citadel, the "Battleship of the Atlantic," is a masterpiece that expresses his military genius. Although currently under renovation, entering and exploring it allows you to appreciate the scale of the structure. The tour will conclude with a visit to the Belle Fontaine or Vauban Water Fountain, which reveals the island's strategic importance. - The 4 Churches: Discover the island's four religious buildings, each reflecting the unique character of the towns of Bangor, Le Palais, Locmaria, and Sauzon. Private, tailor-made tours starting from €195. Contact form and quote request available on the Histoire(s) en Chemin website. Feel free to also contact me by phone: +33 6 89 29 17 41.
