"In the Shade of a Catalpa Tree" Two carefully restored guest rooms to welcome you year-round! New: we offer a hiking package (accommodation + transfers + picnic). Located a 10-minute walk from the port of Le Palais (shops, restaurants, markets), the beach, and the coastal path, our house offers two guest rooms upstairs, each with a private entrance, accommodating 2 to 4 people for a minimum stay of 2 nights. Upstairs, you will find: - Two bedrooms with linens, beds made upon arrival: * one bedroom with a double bed * one bedroom with two single beds - A bathroom with towels - A separate toilet - A tea room with a kettle, coffee, tea, herbal teas, a library, and board games. On the ground floor, you will have access to: - A refrigerator/freezer (grocery store a 2-minute walk from the house) - A washing machine and a dryer. The house is equipped with free and unlimited Wi-Fi. You can have breakfast on the terrace or in our dining room, weather permitting. We will prepare a breakfast made with local, mostly organic products, and can adapt it to your needs. Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:30 am. In a peaceful garden, you can relax and read while keeping an eye on your children, who can enjoy the swing set and outdoor games. Private parking is available. And if you arrive without a car, we will be happy to pick you up from the ferry and take you back to the ferry terminal upon your departure. Pets are not allowed, as Petrus, our cat, has asked for the house to be his alone! Which we respect! We kindly ask you to: - Refrain from smoking inside the house. An ashtray will be provided in the outdoor areas if needed. - Refrain from eating your meals on the first floor. The terrace is available if necessary. If you wish, we can assist you in organizing your days by suggesting: - Cycling routes and rental shops, - Secure bike storage with battery charging facilities. - Hiking trails (we offer to accompany you at the start and finish of your hike), - Addresses for horseback riding, water sports… - A map of the island with its 56 beaches and 4 municipalities, - A list of must-see sites on the island, - The program for the cinema, the Arletty theater, and seasonal festivals, - Recommended places to eat, shop for treats and souvenirs (local products, markets, artisans…), - Recommended beauty and wellness addresses, - Bus schedules for getting around the island. Two bus stops are located less than 100 meters from the house: Bois du Génie and La Grande Prairie
