Thursdays from 10am (except school holidays)

Closed the 25 of December and 1st of January.

Our role


Founded in 1911, the Syndicat d'initiative de Belle-Île-en-Mer, which has since become a three-star tourist office, is a non-profit association. It is a member of France's national federation of tourist offices (FNOTSI) and is responsible for the territory of Belle-Île-en-Mer.

Part of the tourist office's remit is to carry out studies and surveys aimed at making the tourism sector more productive all year round. It informs visitors to the island, promotes and markets the island's tourist products and helps run visitor events. It also helps coordinate the work of the various partners involved in developing local tourism.

Under an agreement with the Communauté de communes de Belle-Île-en-Mer (CCBI), the tourist office is also responsible for managing inter-municipal tourism policy.

Quality of public relations


Over the past two years, the tourist office has been involved in a "total quality approach", initiated by the regional federation of tourist offices. This voluntary initiative is aimed at making tourist office staff more professional in their contacts, whether face to face or by telephone, letter or e-mail. It also aims to improve the way public areas of the tourist office are fitted out, to make it easier to obtain information, and to guarantee that staff are receptive and competent. However it is also aimed at winning recognition for the office's work.

The tourist office is currently deploying the third, consolidation phase, aimed at meeting all of the criteria set out in the "tourism quality plan" introduced by the ministry of tourism.
