Type of show: Screening, Cinema "As a prelude to the Acadie – Québec evening on Thursday, April 9, 2026, with concerts by the Hays Babies and Cayenne duo, the Belle-Ile Acadie association offers us an evening of short documentary films, which have won numerous awards. These documentaries retrace and evoke the memory that unites 78 Belle-Ile families with Acadia. 7:00 PM: SCREENING OF THE DOCUMENTARY "BELLE-ILE, ILE BRETONNE ET ACADIENNE" BY PHIL COMEAU (Duration: 26 minutes – Year: 2016 France - Canada) A group of Acadians from Canada and the United States arrive at Belle-Île-en-Mer, near the Breton coast, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of their cousins' settlement on the French island. Despite two and a half centuries and 4,500 kilometers of distance, these Acadian residents of Belle-Ile-en-Mer maintain tenuous ties with their culture of origin. 8:00 PM: SCREENING OF THE DOCUMENTARY "BELLE-ILE EN ACADIE" BY PHIL COMEAU (Duration: 26 minutes – Year: 2019 – France - Canada) Acadians from Belle-Ile-en-Mer in France come to Acadia, some for the first time, to meet their "cousins." They explore the places of origin of their deported ancestors, interact with Acadians, and thrill to the festivities of the international meeting of the Congrès mondial acadien.
