Welcome to the Black Bee Rucher! Our island is a small territory, where the notion of finiteness takes on its full meaning: resources are limited. Our farm integrates this important dimension by restricting its "livestock" to approximately 200 bee colonies. To be consistent with our values and seeking to practice beekeeping that respects bees, the environment and our customers, we are committed to the production method of Organic Agriculture. We also choose diversified activities: - Cultivation and wild harvesting of medicinal and aromatic plants (herbal teas), - Harvesting and valorization of all hive products (fresh pollen, propolis, candles, etc.), - Small selection of continental products based on honey and propolis - Educational visits "Journey to the center of the hive". Given the hardiness of our protected black bee, the high density of hives on the island and honey resources relying solely on wild flora, our harvests are modest. Depending on these, we reserve the right to limit the sale of our honey to 1 kilo per passage so that it benefits as many people as possible. If this news makes you very unhappy, you can drown your sorrows in our homemade mead. To be consumed in moderation, however! Belle-Île honey is a rare and precious honey. We carry out two harvests per year, the first at the end of July with a polyfloral honey: bramble, chestnut, trefoil, heather, loosestrife, clover... and in September, we harvest a honey dominated by vagabond heather, 80% of the French representation of which is located on Belle-Île! Each year, we have our honey analyzed to better determine the floral origins which evolve according to the weather conditions. By reservation. Guided tour and presentation of the world of bees, pollination, biology, threats, observation of glass hives Tasting in this beekeeping farm Shop (payment by check or cash) No credit card. Good reasons to go there: Meeting with a committed and passionate producer
