Le Chtal: a committed player in the social and solidarity economy Established in the region since 2013, the Le Chtal association is fully committed to the values of the social and solidarity economy. It runs a dynamic recycling center, a true local driver of waste reduction and reuse. In 2024, 154 tons of various objects were collected. Thanks to the involvement of its 6 employees and 90 volunteers, meticulous sorting work was carried out within different sectors: books; furniture, textiles, trinkets and many others. At the end of this process, 107 tons were able to be reused, thus avoiding landfill or incineration. A visit to the site will allow you to discover the behind the scenes of this virtuous approach and follow the concrete journey of an object which, without the action of Le Chtal, could have joined the island's waste.
