As you hike along Belle-Île coastal trails, you will journey through protected natural environments whose beauty lies partly in the absence of manmade structures and infrastructure. For this reason, you will find neither trash cans, water points, nor toilets. Therefore, you must not only carry out your waste (including toilet paper) but also bring enough water before leaving your accommodation.

We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that since June 2022, metal tipped hiking poles are banned along the entirety of Belle-Île’s coastal trail. The use of hiking poles equipped with rubber tips or without metallic tips remains allowed. These measures have been implemented due to increased trail erosion and vegetation damage caused by the use of metal-tipped poles in order to maintain the quality and sustainability of the trail!

We also remind you that bivouacking is prohibited on Belle-Île. Please make sure to book your accommodation in advance.
Ignoring this regulation exposes you to a fine ranging from 135€ to 1500€.

The trail can be very steep and rather slippery after any amount of rain. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear, stay vigilant, keep away from cliffedges, and do not leave children or animals unattended. The trail is open to all pedestrians: hikers, casual walkers, and trail runners.

Common sense and courtesy are essential to ensure everyone’s safety.

  • Starting from the famous Aiguilles de Port Coton, immortalized by the painter Claude Monet, for the bravest, continue on the wild coast, on one of the most beautiful parts of the trail. The difference in altitude is significant but the landscapes are breathtaking! The arrival on Herlin beach will remain one of your most beautiful memories! Allow 12.7 km.
