"As a child, I spent my summer holidays at the CCE holiday camps, an association created after the War by French Communist Jews. I turned this story into a short epic poem, spoken, sung, chanted. It deals with political awareness, tenacious ideology, the wearing down of hope, transgressions of all kinds, and the awakening of the senses. I also wanted people to hear the unforgettable songs we sang at the time, for which I accompany myself on a magnificent Czechoslovakian electric guitar from the 1960s."
