Conférence : Mission parlementaire pour les deux pôles

Director of the "Arctic, Southern Lands and Antarctica" study group, Jimmy PAHUN, completed a month-long journey to understand the importance of scientific research in Antarctica. This continent is uninhabited outside of scientists and a few military personnel. It is dedicated to science in all its aspects: geophysics, ornithology, glaciology, oceanography... The poles are at the heart of climate change. Researchers coexist with logisticians and numerous trades to ensure the maintenance of the bases in this hostile environment. This conference is linked to the arrival at Le Palais of the sailboat "Le Français" which provides the polar school for young people from Antarctica.
