On April 25th, we're hosting Mégane Vandermarliere for a micro-macrame jewelry upcycling workshop. What is jewelry upcycling? It's a creative and innovative approach that promotes a circular and eco-friendly way of life, aiming to extend the lifespan of your broken or outdated jewelry. Macrame is one of those ancient arts, dating back to time immemorial, rooted in various cultures. A bearer of memory, magic, and intuition, it's a weaving technique that transcends time and continues to evolve. Today, it's becoming micro-macrame: a more delicate form where thick cords give way to fine threads to create beautiful jewelry. What can you expect during the workshop? Learn to weave the basic knots of micro-macrame. Choose the colors and sizes of threads and select the embellishments. Find inspiration from existing creations, then make your own piece. If you have old jewelry lying around, a broken or slightly outdated beaded bracelet, a necklace from your grandma that you can't part with but that's just been gathering dust in a corner… Now's the time to give them a new life! Using the micro-macrame weaving technique, come and create your own unique and original piece of jewelry and weave its new story. Your imagination is the only limit. If you don't have any old jewelry on hand, no problem, beads and embellishments will be available so your creativity can shine. Each participant brings their own perspective and experience to the table, forging genuine connections and creating a community of curious and engaged creators. Who is this for? For those who want to learn the art of weaving, create with their own hands, share a friendly moment, and connect the past with the new. For everyone aged 15 and up. Reservations: [email protected]
