The tasks of the tourist office

For sustainable and socially responsible tourism

The island, as a destination and for those who live there, calls for everyone to come together and work collectively to transform its appeal.

The Belle-Ile Tourist Office is developing sustainable tourism in line with the values of the region:

  • NATURE – A piece of countryside in the middle of the ocean.
  • TERRITORY – The largest of the Breton islands: authentic local produce and expertise, numerous activities and experiences.
  • LIVELY AND HUMAN – A lively island all year round on a human scale.
  • RESPONSIBLE – Respect for a natural environment battered by the sea and the wind.

There are many challenges to overcome in order to promote tourism development. The main missions of the Belle-Île-en-Mer Tourist Office are to:

  • WELCOME, INFORM and ADVISE our visitors before, during and after their stay.
  • PROMOTE THE DESTINATION and highlight the region’s assets.
  • CONTRIBUTE TO EXCHANGES between local and non-local stakeholders for the development of tourism.
  • COLLECT tourism data and PROVIDE EXPERTISE to local elected officials.
  • PROMOTE AND SUPPORT our partners.
  • MARKET TOURISM SERVICES.

· Two remote reception points:
From April to September, a reception point is set up in the port of Sauzon.
An information service is available at Quiberon ferry terminal, in cooperation with the Baie de Quiberon Le Grand Souffle Tourist Office.
