In February 2008, 5 music-loving friends from Bellilois had the idea of setting up a festival in the enchanting setting of the Bois du Génie to contribute to the animation of the island summer. The bet is daring, even a little crazy, but they go all the way: the artists agree to lower their fees to play on the small municipal stage, the mums make pancakes, the dads are on social security and the friends serve the beers. More than 1500 festival-goers will take part in this 1st edition of Belle Ile On Air. 7 years and an over-motivated team to take over this crazy adventure later, the road traveled makes you dizzy: two days, two stages, a village, a campsite, daytime entertainment, food and drink. And above all sound, big, good. The only island festival of contemporary music, Belle Ile On Air, has been open to all audiences and eco-responsible since its inception.
