Conférence "Le voyage de M. Proust à Belle-Île-en-Mer et en Bretagne" par Michel Damblant

Proust came to Belle-Île with Reynaldo Hahn in early September 1895, on his way to Beg Meil. During this short stay, he wrote the first constructed version of the "evening kiss scene" that he would include in the first part of Swann's Way in 1908. Michel Damblant, in a 50-minute slideshow lecture, details this passage on the island and specifies the links between the author's experiences during his travels and what he took from them for his work. The comparison between the extracts from his correspondence and their literary adaptation allows us to understand the twists and turns of the author's creation in In Search of Lost Time.
